Easter Musings

April 3rd, 2010 steve No comments

Today is Easter Saturday, the day between the crucifixion and the resurrection in the story of Jesus. As I sit here putting the finishing touches on tomorrows message a question comes to my mind, what happened on Saturday?

Saturday, esoterically, could not  just be a normal day, just any old day between the crucifixion and the resurrection. There had to be some meaning.  As I thought/meditated about that question I began to realize that this is the period of time required for the building of a new life.

Saturday is, of course, the 24 hour period in the center of the 40 hours between a death and a re-birth.

So, today is a day of releasing  what has been and meditating on what can be. I think all of us  can relate to that. What  are the things that we want to release. Those things that are not in harmony with the life we really want.

The life that we have today is determined by our choices of yesterday.

So, today, I would like you to join with me in finding any place in your life where there is resentment, guilt, sadness, any feelings of not being good enough, and anything else that we can release. We give it to Spirit or give it back to God. We say: “here, you take this…you deal with it,  heal it for me, because alone I cannot do this and with Spirit all things are possible.”   “Re-make my life  so that tomorrow when I wake, a new life will begin for me.”

As the world re-awakens and the first buds of spring lift our souls, let us start fresh and make this a better year of our life.

Have a wonderful Easter everyone.

Just For Today

January 29th, 2010 steve No comments

Today, I want to invite you to try an experiment:

Just for today, let’s work with the principle that gratitude is the Key to increase.

Now, the way to work with is to:

1) Look for the good things in your life.

2) When you have found them:  praise them and say thank you to Spirit.

3) Fully expect more good things to come into your life.

So often we take the easy way and just think about all that is missing from our lives. We see all the stuff that went wrong and start whining or complaining.

Of course, at that point, we have a lot of company. It seems that everyone loves to gripe and moan. That everyone loves to help you and to add their own gripes and moans when you do it. Pity parties are easy to start.

But, just for today, let us think and act in accord with our Higher Selves. Just for today, let us look for the center of our contract with Spirit and do our best to step squarely into it. Just for today, let us seek out and find all the good in our life and say:  Thank You!

Happy Holidays

December 28th, 2009 steve No comments

A poem from that well known author,  Anonymous.

New Year:

I am the new year.

I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.

I am your next chance at the art of living.

I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned during the last twelve months of your life.

All that you sought the past year and failed to find is hidden in me;

I am waiting for you to search it out again and, this time, with more determination.

All the good that you tried to do and didn’t achieve last year is mine to grant –

providing you have clearer intention and fewer conflicting beliefs.

In me lies the potential of all that you dreamed but didn’t dare to do,

all that you hoped but did not perform, all that you prayed for and did not yet experience.

These dreams slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of an enduring purpose.

Yes, I am the new year.

Happy Holidays To All

Seeing The Future

December 7th, 2009 steve No comments

Seeing The Future:

Many people come to a psychic to learn the future. What will happen? When will it happen? Will my lover come back? Will I get a new job?

The plain and simple answer to these questions is:  Darned if I know! I have no idea.  Because, you have the free will to chose. I can give you the trend, the direction in which you are headed, even the path you are standing upon, but you must chose to move forward or backwards or just stand still or even change roads.

Your future is not carved in stone and brought down from the mountain. Your future is changeable, fluid, and is always on the move. The decisions that you make today become your reality tomorrow. Your current thoughts and ideas become your world of experience next month or next year.  So, why bother going to a reader if we do not know the future?

That is a good question. To explain I need to take you all the way back to before you were born.

As you were considering returning to a physical body you and a group of your friends sat down and discussed your intended life this time around. You wanted to see some things, experience some emotions and physical feelings, and rectify some things from your past lives.  Of course you also wanted to learn and grow as a spiritual being. That is the main reason we become physical: to have spiritual growth from a physical experience. So, you and your friends sit around and plan all this. It all sounds great. You think, “I can do all that”, “I can really make this next life a good learning experience.”

And now you are born and you forget all the planning that went into this life. You sometimes feel that you have been dumped into the center of a strange land with no map and no tools. The friends from before your birth are now spirit guides. Think of them as being on the space station. They can see you. They know where you are in relation to the goals and ideas you had  when you came in. In fact, it is their job to help you achieve those goals. (The spiritual goals..not your present physical goals.)  They can even see a short distance in front of you.

Lets say that you want to go to New York (if you already live there go to LA instead).  As you look at the map you will see many roads that will get you to NY.  Some of them are short and direct, some are long and scenic. All of them have many, many roads branching off of them, with many roads branching from the initial branch. In short, there are as many paths to follow as you can imagine.

You begin your journey by following others: parents, teachers, church leaders, or even friends that seem to have it more together than you do.  There comes a time however, when you are expected to make your own decisions. To choose for yourself. To pick the road that you will travel through life. Ah, the amount of choices is staggering.

So, you come to a reader. You want to know everything. When will I find my true love? Will I get a good job? What color will my new car be? (yes, someone really asked that.) Some more advanced souls  will ask: “how am I doing on my spiritual path?”  When will get to NY?

Flashback to your guides up there in the space station. I will ask them what they can tell me. But, please remember that they can only see a limited distance, only as far as the next crossroad. When YOU will choose which road to take.  So, when you ask how long till I reach NY? They will look and tell me something like this:  she is in New Jersey now just cross the bridge, no problem. Or something like this:  she is in Oklahoma right now, with all sorts of traffic hazards along the way…there is no way to know whether she will make it or not. There is a bridge out, a snow storm in Ohio, and at least two really big rivers to cross.

And I will tell you: “just keep going the way you are headed, no problems”   or   “well, they can’t tell right now, but if I were you I would hire a boat and buy some snow shoes.”        Get the point?

That is the main benefit of having a reading with someone who can talk with your guides way up there in space. You an get an advance warning so that you can buy the snow shoes that you will need. So that you are prepared for the road hazards along the way.

Now, you can take this advice and go snow shoe shopping or you can ignore what I told you and wind up out in the snow with no way to move forward.  You get to chose.  Free will, remember.      This is a large subject so,   More Later.

Light, Love & Laughter To All.

What A Medium Sees

November 12th, 2009 steve No comments

The question always goes like this:

“So, you are a medium, what do you see

when you look at me?”

The answer: most of us see colors, your Aura.

Whether you know it or not,

you are a swirling oval of energy. In Color!

These colors come and go.

Changing as your ideas and moods change.

Some of them swirl into each other,

creating a rainbow of color and motion.

The energy around most people & things

is usually very beautiful.

OK, what do we learn from these colors?

What do they mean in relation to the client?

Red: A lot of physical energy, a dynamic individual

Pink: A person in love, a calm peaceful energy

Orange: Laid back, open, friendly, welcoming, not hiding things

Yellow: Mental energy, a good mind, all the students

around here wear yellow on test days

Green: Mental & emotional balance, think new spring green

and the balance of the seasons

Violet: Psychic energy, the color most associated with

Psychics and Mediums

White: Usually a sign of high quality spiritual energy

Puke Green: Unstable, not balanced, under pressure

Brown: Stressed out, this is the puke green after a

long time in stressful situations

Black: Negative energy, a negative outlook, a whiner,

usually blames others for their problems

Now, please realize that these “definitions” are just the

surface things and that a good interpretation depends

on a good reader. All the colors have multiple meanings,

multiple nuances, and they are always blending and changing.

For example: Black is sometimes a sign that the client is blocking

the reader, usually due to fear. But it may also

mean that the client has been drained of energy

by psychic “vampires” or by their personal

stressful situations.

So, when you go into your semi-dark bathroom to look at your

aura in the mirror (a good way to learn to see them), remember

that getting the correct interpretation requires a lot of

training or a lot of practice or both.

Questions? Feel free to ask me.

Interested in a reading?  They will be available soon. Watch this space.

Clear The Clutter

October 27th, 2009 steve No comments

Remember the old adage:

“A cluttered desk is a
sign of genius”
Example of an old outgrown idea.

Since your outer world is a direct reflection of your inner mental world, what does your personal space say about you?  Is it marvelous or just a mess? Does the energy flow or is it stagnant?  Do ideas come with ease or with difficulty?

I don’t work well in a mess. The other day after several attempts to work in my digital darkroom, I finally realized that I needed to change the energy. And that the way to do that was to clear out the mess, get rid of the clutter. This realization resulted in a month long “clearing party”, which to a lesser degree is still ongoing.

Now, I’m not a person that enjoys hanging on to “stuff”,  but sometimes more “stuff” just comes in. The piles of papers and other things just seem to show up again. A few months after a good cleaning job the place looks the same again. So, the question is: How can we get rid of the clutter for good ?

The best way of ridding yourself of “stuff” is to work with it internally as well as physically. Your outer cluttered space is a sign of your inner spiritual clutter and confusion. You need to deal with both areas.  Just  rearranging the physical space will not bring about any lasting changes in your life or your environment.

You see, energetically you are connected to all your stuff. Everything you have is drawing energy from you in the form of ideas, fears, and memories. Do you still hold on to past ideas that no longer fit you?  I’ll bet that if I looked in your closet I would find old clothes that do not fit you anymore. In your basement I would find boxes of ….???  You probably don’t even remember what is in them anymore. In your mind, I would find ideas and beliefs that you have long since outgrown.

My parents would keep things “just in case we need it”…..That idea sends a signal of “not enough” out into the universe.  Of course, the universe responds by sending more of “not enough”.  The old outgrown belief in  my parents case was “a lack of”, an idea of not enough to go around….It came from living through a depression, but by the time I came along it was old and outgrown.

There is nothing wrong with having a lot of “stuff”, as long as your “stuff” is being used, seen, shown off, enjoyed, and at the very least dusted. Remember, that your “stuff” is energy and if energy is not used it stagnates and does not flow. When you use or get rid of stuff it makes way for more energy flow to come to you…..this is the idea behind giving, donating, tithing, etc.. If you believe that there is a continual supply then you have no problem with giving. If however, you believe that supply is limited then you do not give, you hold on to things out of fear. Fear of not having enough. You are in your own personal depression, regardless the state of the economy.

Do you want to manifest something?   What are you willing to get rid of??

You need to “make space” for new things. Do this mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and  physically.  If you are not ready for it, you cannot manifest it.  Several years ago, we were in the process of manifesting a different car. The old one was about shot so it was time for a new one. Being the people that we are, we started to manifest a new car. We had it all set up; the type, model, price, everything about it…..what happened?  Nothing!!   Nothing, that is, until we realized that we had no space for a new car.  So… we started parking on the street, leaving the garage free for the new car.  It took 3 days for the perfect car to come into our lives at the perfect price! We just needed to give it space!

Start now….begin to clear the clutter from your mind, your spirit, your emotions, and your space. Make room for new things to come into your life. Get rid of old out grown ideas and beliefs. Open yourself to the bounty of the universe.  NOW!!

This post has just scratched the surface of energy management and manifestation.  Interested?  Want to learn more?   Come take a class with us.

10 Things To Do When You Want To Quit

September 26th, 2009 steve No comments

Did you ever have one of those days when you felt like just chucking it all out the window and just quitting?

I think that we all have had days like  that. Especially at the beginning of a new project. Like this blog….like this new age center that we are trying to build.

It is not that we are lazy, it is more pervasive than that. A feeling of powerlessness or helplessness. It feels like that emocon that shows the person beating his head against the brick wall. “I have been doing all this work and what do I  have to show for it????”  So far, not much.

What to do?…What to do?

Well, if you are like me, the first thing that you do is to turn to the life teachings that we are sharing with you.

After all, if we don’t believe in them enough to use them…why should you?   So, here are the:

10 Things To Remember When You Want To Quit

1) Ask the universe for what you want. Ask, with the certainty that it is already there for you. That all that needs to happen is for it to become manifest. Things are created twice; first in your mind, then in the physical plane. When you ask, you need to do so with a very clear picture of what you want. You need to “see” it in your mind…see it as already done. See yourself getting the benefits of this accomplishment. See your life being different, better.

2) See the benefits to others. How will they grow and change for the better because of what you are doing?

If what you are asking for does not provide benefits to others, why do you want to do it? Remember, a part of your spiritual contract is helping others. You need to visualize other people reaping the harvest that you have planted for them.

3) Spirit does not give instant gratification. It takes a while for the right combination of events to percolate down to you. Face it, life is not a drive through where you can get an instant breakthrough. This means that you need to believe that things will work out if you just keep on keeping on.  Now, that type of belief is hard to come by until after you begin to experience the results of your work. You need to stack the deck in your favor by setting a series of benchmarks to show your progress. Make them small steps that are relatively easy to accomplish. Then celebrate each one of them as they are achieved.

This helps you hold on to your faith in the outcome by showing your mind that you are winning.

4)  Focus on the goal, not the external distractions.

There will be people who do not like you. That want you to fail. That are envious of you and what you are trying to accomplish. That spread vicious stories about you. That will tell you that what you are seeking is foolish and cannot be done. That you will be different if you do this.

DUH!!  That is the point!

If, you allow any of this to get between you and the goal…you will lose sight of the goal and will lose your way on the path. If you give any of your energy to these folks or to what they think, you are taking the energy away from your goal.

5) Ask yourself: What can I DO Now that will bring me nearer to my goal?

I know, it is a trick question.  What can  I  DO  NOW…..?

What can you do, not what can the universe do for me. But, what can I do??

What can you DO ?  Taking physical ACTION is the key to this. When you take action, when you involve your body in a motion of some type it will change your mood.

You see, negative thoughts create inaction….fear, doubt, insecurity, feelings of “not good enough”, the thought becomes reality…(or, does the reality become the thought??)

But, positive actions can change your mood to positive feelings, feelings of accomplishment, feelings of higher self worth, feelings of “this will work”,  feelings  that can and will carry you through the darkness of self doubt.

And, remember to do it NOW!  Do not pass go, do not stop to collect the money…as the great guru Nike said:  Just Do It !      and do it now!

6) Grow Yourself.

Are you ready to have your desire? What changes in you ideas or attitudes need to be made before you can realize you goal. A simple example is that if your goal is to have a law practice, you need to go to law school first.  I know, that one is obvious, but almost all goals have some type of prerequisite to their achievement.

A while back, I ask a friend who has a successful New Thought center for advice on how to build this one. She helped me to realize that my ministry is NOT just the church/center. That my ministry is much greater than that.

That I needed to reach out to many more people than could be reached by a small building in the suburbs of Dayton, Ohio.

This blog is the result of that realization. And I believe that as I grow my ministry, the center has no choice but to grow along with me.

As I said: if I do not use my own beliefs, why should you listen to me?

How do you need to change and grow?  Start Now !

7) Sticktoitiveness:  other wise known as Willpower.

Sometimes you just need to keep doing what you are doing. No matter what mood you are in just keep doing it.

Do it to the best of your ability. Every time. Don’t just “phone it in” do it right. Hold on to your faith that things will work out in your best interest and keep going through the periods of self doubt. Nothing worth  while ever “just showed up”  if it is worth something it will take a  while to materialize.

Do watch for the acknowledgement that will be sent by Spirit after you ask for what you want. It usually comes as a song on the radio, a well placed billboard, a comment made in a conversation about another topic, or a “random” remark that you overhear.  This is the return receipt from Spirit that yes, we got your message.

Now your job is to hold on to the visualization of your self and others benefiting by your accomplishment. Don’t let it slip…stick to it…..and Never doubt that it will happen. As soon as you give energy to doubt, you cancel the request.

8  Keep a WOW file.

One of the things that I started doing was to keep a record of all the good things that were said or written about me. Letters or emails that told me how much I had helped someone. How their life was better because I had been in it in some way.

If the experience was a physical one, not mail, then I would write down the main part of it and put that in the file.

It is amazing how much a file like this can energize you. When the outside noise of others who want you to fail becomes too loud, I take out the file and read about my success.

I call it my WOW file because every time I read it I think…wow, I did that!!  We tend to forget the impact that we have had on the lives of others as we become absorbed in todays problems.  The Wow file is my way of remembering that helping the world one person at a time is worth all the hassle that goes with it.

9) Surround yourself with like minded people.

What we are doing, establishing a new age center in the Bible belt, is a daunting task. Which would be much more difficult without a core group of like minded souls. I believe that we learn and grow best in community with others that are supportive and positive in their attitudes.  In fact, that is what the center is all about. A place where you can come to grow and learn and change in a safe, positive, and encouraging environment composed of like minded souls.

Look around in your area, is there a place like this?

Are there people around that could meet once a week just to be supportive of each others quest?

Could you put flyers on bulletin boards and form your own small group?

You really need to have outside support for your goals and ideas. Going it alone is very very very difficult.  We humans are not meant to live in a closet or to hide our light away from others. We grow best when we are valued and nurtured in a community of like minded souls.

Of course, if you are in the neighborhood we would love to have you drop in and see us.

10) Why 10?  Because we can count that far with our hands and feet? No.  Because it makes for a good title for this article? No.

Because in numerology the number 10 is New Beginnings.

Therefore, #10  is for you to put all of the first nine items together into a plan of action. Then start to work.

The Law of Choice tells us that our lives are the result of the choices we have made. That your decisions today create the life you have tomorrow.  What do you want for the next year? The next 5 years?  The next 10 years?

If you really want to realize your dream and create a successful life then you need to work on the first nine steps to achieve this.  Not just some of them, not just some of the time, not just when you feel up to it. You need to put out real sustained effort and disregard the external negativity around you.

Take action today…..make a fresh start….a new beginning.

And,  DO IT NOW!

Mountain Top

September 19th, 2009 steve No comments

Through out the ages, a mountain, a path up the mountain, or reaching the top of a mountain,  has been equated with the spiritual journey.  Even in cartoons, the wise guru is often seen sitting at the peak of a mountain dispensing wisdom to his/her students.

The question then becomes:

How do I get to the top of my personal mountain?

As I see it, there are only two ways to get there.

There are of course, many paths to the top. As many paths as there are people. But, which ever path you choose, you then have two choices of method.

1) The first method, which is the one we all start with, is when you choose to do everything all by yourself. You will read all the books, never mind that they give conflicting information. You will try to do meditation and find that all the outside distractions interfere with that practice. You will consult the internet and find so much information that you will wonder what to do since much of the advice is very general and not designed for you.

In short, you are re-inventing the wheel! This method sometimes works… but it always takes MUCH longer than it should and leaves you confused, mentally battered and emotionally bruised. Some seekers do not survive the journey.

2) The second method is to join with a group of other seekers and find a good guide.  Think of this as a real, physical mountain climbing expedition. How far would you get trying to climb Everest or K2 all by yourself? Not very far. You would most likely perish on the slopes long before you ever got near the summit.

The correct way to ascend is to join with a group of like minded seekers, hire a few bearers to help carry all your baggage, and most important… find a guide, a Sherpa, a teacher, someone who has been there and done that.  Someone who knows the pathways and can help you decide which is best for you. Some one who has made the journey over and over again, guiding seekers just like you to the top by the shortest, easiest, and safest path.

With this guidance, your chances for success go way up. Usually, the only way to fail is to refuse to listen to the advice which is given.

Someone asked me recently why Autumn Creek exists in the way that it does, a metaphysical school and a church.

We are here:  to become the community of seekers that you can join for support on your journey.

Many of us start out with  the idea that we are all alone in our seeking. We are the non conformists in our social groups. We are the ones who “just know” that there must be more to life than living in the theology of “you are not good enough”. But, every time we try to learn more or heaven forbid, ask questions of our church  leaders we are told that thinking that way makes us miserable sinners.  We are the ones who are afraid to say what we really think because we will lose friends by doing that.

Autumn Creek is here to let you know: that you are not a sinner, that you are not worthless, and most important ….you are not alone!!

We are here:  to become the bearers that help you carry or better yet, to discard all your excess baggage.

We are  here:  to give you access to Sherpas who can guide you over paths that are well known to us since we have traveled them many times.

We are here:  so that you do not have to re- invent the wheel and struggle up the mountain all by yourself.

— Namaste —
